Yesterday I got to spend the day in the shop ,"the whole day" started at 7:00am and ended at 9:30pm,But I think it might of been worth it .This is what I came up with.this Billet is just over 1/4 thick and 15"long and 1 1/2 wide .I started with 19 layers of (10 each-1/4",by 4" by 1 1/2 wide...

nice knife ,That wood put me in the hospital the dust is bad,bad, stuff i threw out all that wood, real close to killing me and i can't even look at the stuff.its a shame because i love it. LOL

I even used a round bar and hand forged the mill area to get it ready to draw out but it still cracked and it was at forging heat . dang it .

OK this is my real first Ladder billet the other ones i've made have been a stamp ladder then grind off the high spots and i have never really like it ,it didn't seem to pop to me .so i milled this one its 80 layers of 1084-15n20 I've never put hole's in a billet for the birdeye look .so off to...

ya 400 layers just couldn't trust it for a knife ,real tight pattern in each one of those grooves has tons of lines ,got to get the wife off my case for the stove thing somehow LOL.

no the oven is out of the question, used the small elec. oven in the shop that I have been sleeping in me and the dog.

OK I Made these two Hoof Picks for the wife's girl friends ,two cowgirls who both have a knife from me they take ridding every week. i had this steel sitting around that had a fold flaw in the middle of the billet I Just couldn't make a knife out of it so i pounded out these hoof picks .darci...
