What do you look for in a custom knife?

*The knife has to be feel right in the hand , the handle to me should be rounded with no square corners or hot spots. It should feel like an extension of the hand. I dislike handles that are totally flat , that feels like a block of wood to me. * Blade should be proportionate to the handle...

    Paragon Sports NYC Raided!!!

I like this part... Flat out stupid if you ask me. Those are pretty much common pocket knives. If I was a custom folder maker in NYC , I would be looking to either move or switch to fixed blade only. I can just see someone getting a wild hair and raiding a makers shop and taking all tools used...

    New Mill and Milling Station

I have the HF Mini Mill , I had no problems getting it on the bench as it was only 160 pounds or so , but then after I went to move it the next time , it felt heavier , perhaps it was the 1 1/2" 24" x 20" steel plate I had bolted it to once it was on the bench. :) When the Index 55 mill left my...

    Progression

Thanks Ray , yes she is doing much better now. It was quite a scary 6 months , but she spent 4 days this weekend out there in the shop cleaning , painting , rearranging and helping me get organized. I am pretty close to having all of the shop back in action...now to order some blade steel and...

    Progression

After sustaining much water damage in the shop late last year , it has slowly getting fixed ( and I mean slowly even in knifemaker time ) , the shop is almost back to having all 1100 sq ft useable again. Wife's bout with cancer put the breaks on the remodel. My wife of 21 years is definitely...
