I keep Apps and Data on separate drives , once I re-image my machine , I make an image of that HD for back up , this way worst comes to worst , swap hard drives and back in business ASAP. Like Mike , I tend to keep a copy of all my utilities on a thumbdrive 2thumbs

    Paper Wheel

Hellgap , not sure on the amp & specs , but I will check it tomorrow night , it runs nice and slow on the lowest setting. A bud has the un gritted wheel one side of his and a 8" leather wheel on the side , and that is a nice setup. I can only get a dozen knives on the gritted wheel , so I do...

    Paper Wheel

As you will find in knife making , there is no " correct " way. ;) But that picture is not the way I use the machine , I turned it around from the way I use it so that a friend could see the speed control on the front. Nice little machine , especially when on sale at Sears for $79 :D

    Paper Wheel

I use mine the same as Bruce does , seldom use the gritted wheel at all. Thinking of replacing it with a leather wheel.

    Filing versus Grinding

Besides how thin you get it , it also depends on how even you grind/file it , and how you quench it as well.

Ways to get a good sharp edge

Sharpen - I use the bader to raise a burr , then go to the paper wheels. to resharpen - just the paper wheels. I wouldn't ever have the patience to take a knife with no edge , and put an edge on it with a lansky or edge pro.
