    Forging S30V?

I was given some S30V that is just a little too narrow for an upswept blade. Can this be fixed by forging the point up?

    Inlay, dovetailing..etc?

A little bit of super glue around the edges helps. This will pop off with a good blow from a hard stick of wood.

How long should my sharp blade last?

Might try to temper at a lower temp. With 5160 I temper at 350 for one hour. If the blade comes out too hard you can retemper at 375. Just my two cents.

Cool stuff! Safety saw!!! A must see!

As a cabinet man for 15 years, I dont trust it. You just have to pay attention to what you are doing. And remember the 10 rules. I still have all of mine! I have seen more damage done by kick backs than the blade.

    Damascus recurve hunter

I Challange you to top that one! Every thing is great. The file work is real sharp, the handle is outstanding, and the steel. I will let that speak for it's shelf.

    Rototiler Tines

Was able to work a little bit on the peace, as this is not a knife yet. Did get the handle to flatten out a bit. It does fit the hand better. Still have a not right cruve to the point. I mess up and droped it in the water while it was still red hot. I hope it still works.

    Rototiler Tines

I beat the first one kind of flat. My forging stills are still new. Great cruve, but does not fit the hand very good. Feels good in the back hand, but little use that way.

    Drawing a Bowie blade?

I start with paper. Then 1/8 plywood. And then I start with a few messed up blade blanks! I have lots! Keep working at it. That is part of the fun.
