    For user knives I normally go to 600g then etch, then clean up with steel wool and a metal polish. I make gaurds an interference fit onto the tang, however in your case if you were to use JB weld you wont have the cleanup issue associated with solder. Cheers Bruce

    Keeping things flat and parallel without a surface grinder?

    Because grinding wheel fragments & metal dust & machine oil becomes grinding paste and gets into places on mills where it is not wanted!!!!!!!
