    Another Slipjoint

    Thanks , All ! John , the pins are all peened. I used a dovetail cutter to make the nail nick on this one . I 'm still in the " evolving " stage as far as making nailnicks. I started out using the Dremel cutoff wheel & am in the process of trying a grinding stone now . Joe

    One tip that I have found which prevents or reduces fingernail marks on your leather is to wear a rubber surgical glove on the hand holding the stamping tool. (In addition to keeping the nails short ! ) Joe

    Reshape & bevel tip as suggested by Murph then if not satisfied with the way it looks, you can replace the blade . Got nothing to lose , the way it is presently !

    Some recommend 350 degrees x 1hr snap temper then cryo . Others say go direct to cryo after heat treat. All seem to agree to always temper after cryo. I cryo immediately after heat treat without the snap temper & have not had any problem using ATS-34 , then temper X 2 X 2 hr. I do not claim...
