I'm going to hang a target on my shop wall!

I finally moved my trash bin within arms length of my grinder. It seems to be working out quite well for those projects that don't first become projectiles. So far this week I've tossed a six inch dagger that became a six inch tooth pic real quick and a nice little wharnie.......well it was nice...

I just ordered Little Machine shop's mini mill

Have you had a chance to use it for knife making applications, and how do you like it? I have one of these on my wishlist and would appreciate your observations on this machine. I have no machinists experience so how user friendly do you think this particular machine is for a beginner willing to...

    Which one?

Thanks guys. My primary use would be to make things flat such as scales, bolsters, and tangs. I should be able to get by with a dedicated 120 disk for that purpose, however, there do seem to be a few distinct advantages to the magnetic disk setup. Lot's to think about there.......

    Which one?

I'm looking at the 9" disk grinders over at Beaumont Metal Works and can't seem to decide whether the horizontal or vertical model would be best. Which do you experienced guys find to be the most versatile of the two?

    Customer's Engraving/Etching Request

I saw a Gary Larson cartoon once that showed a cowboy holding a red hot branding iron that read 'This here cow belongs to rancher Bob Jones' in big block letters, lol. The cow had it's eyes all bulged out in anticipation of getting branded by it.

    opinions on neck knives needed.

A few years back I bought a nice little neck knife that appears to be made out of old saw blade material about 1/16"+ thick. It's 5" overall with a 2 1/2" blade that is super sharp. It is very lightweight and makes the perfect little hideout knife. I use it as my secondary edc and use it...

Damascus & Rosewood- small hideout fighter...

That does seem to look a bit better, and I'm sure it will still crush skulls. :)

    So I got this question...........?

Strange, I was thinking about this very topic while out mowing the lawn today. Here are my conclusions. As a relatively new maker myself it is always nice to hear words of encouragement. However I'm not seven years old anymore and if I make something that is full of design flaws, poor...

Damascus & Rosewood- small hideout fighter...

I do like that damascus pattern. The finial shape seems good for it's intended purpose, have you considered turning one out of same material as the blade? Your workmanship is impeccable.

Help needed forging steel and copper?

Check out the works of Ariel Salaverria at AES custom knives. I have seen some of his knives that incorporated brass into the steel and I know he is actively experimenting with copper accents as well. Good luck.
