What do you use to cut your metal out?

I bought a HF 4x6 band saw about 2 yrs ago. When I got it, every adjustment was totally out of alignment and the blade was a piece of crap. I replaced the blade with a Lennox blade and spent a lot of time getting the tracking and blade guides adjusted. The time was well spent and now the saw...

A good camera? How much to spend?

I have something called an "Eye-Fi" memory card for my camera. It transfers photos between the camera and the computer wirelessly. Once set up properly (sometimes a chore), it saves a lot of time and hassles transferring pictures. It costs about $80.00 and is well worth it.

    Buffing Information

The best buffing advice I ever heard was from Gil Hibben. TURN YOUR BRAIN ON BEFORE YOU TURN ON THE BUFFER. Every time a buffer wheel had grabbed something, it was because I wasn't concentrating on what I was doing. Buffing accidents happen in the 'wink' of an eye. The first safety rule---PAY...

    From grinder to buffer

I find that I get better results in polishing ferris metals by using a medium hard felt buff instead of a stitched buff. I will sand until I think I have all the scratches removed with one grit. A quick buff on the blade will reveal any scratches. I will then sand those scratches to remove them...

    Home stabaliztion questions

About the sizes of the pieces to be stabilized... For example, I have a 4 x 4 x4" piece of wood that I would like to use as scales. Would it be better for me to cut the wood into scale sized pieces first, or stabilize the large piece as a whole. I know the big piece will take longer to vacuum...
