Help with planning for antler slab handle

I would be reluctant to use antler that fresh, particularly slabs, as there may be a good chance of them warping. I have no real experience with moose antler though. With whitetail antlers I like to let them set in a dry place for about a year before using them, but it is possible I am being...

    Question on hidden tang material

The terminology is not set in stone, there are also stub tangs, half tangs, stick tangs etc... mostly describing the exact same thing. If you want to know about conserving materials look into medieval knives and their construction. The vast majority were made of the cheapest iron available...

I think what you call a full tang and what I call a full tang are two...

    Design help

The basic design for the utility all-purpose knife has changed very little in the, well, since knives started being made of metal. Most of the changes have been driven by fashion, not function. Now, when we start talking about edged weapons, the variety of different blades we've come up with...

    "Roach Belly" knife

A google image search for 'roach belly knife' comes up with many results, but every one a modern interpretation of what is a supposedly historic design.... I personally would want to see examples of the original artifacts, and I'm having no luck finding them.
