    Questions on thinning epoxy

I bought the 8oz gflex (2 bottles, 4oz each), and I should be good for a year at my slow pace.... I love this stuff by the way, I've done some experiments/tests and like how it preforms. It has a 45 minute work time at room temperature, which is more than enough time for me, what I'd like to...

    Questions on thinning epoxy

I've found that epoxy flows much better when it is warm (it also sets up faster). Perhaps it could be heated to maybe 120 degrees....

Bringing them something they already have...

I agree 100%, to have a grasp of what christians believe, you need to go to the source, which is the bible... the gospel of John is a good place to start, as is the letter to the Romans. If you have any trouble finding a bible, I'd be glad to send you one in your language.

Again, I must point to the scripture.... Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”...

Do I need this?....Do Knifemakers,or customizers use this?...

This is the problem with a scroll saw, they cannot handle the harder materials we knifemakers use. I use a coping saw for cutting most non-metallic materials, and a jewelers saw for hard or brittle materials. A bandsaw with a narrow blade is ideal for this.

To answer some of the questions you have raised, I present to you the sermon from Mars Hill: "So Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very religious in all respects. For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship...

    Wildebeest Horn

Carpet beetles love horn, and will eat little holes in it... the first thing I do when I get horn is soak it in a linseed oil/turpentine mix (50/50) overnight... the beetles want nothing to do with it after that. However, these are scales, and this might interfere with epoxy adhesion.

Is it okay to photoshop a knife your selling?

I will use photoshop to adjust contrast, balance, saturation, etc. in an effort to give a better representation of the knife, not to give a false one. My photography needs all the help it can get....

    18th Century knife making

Fascinating, yet I want to get opinions from some who smelt their own steel as to how feasible it is to pour the molten steel into molds, and then go straight to grinding....

blade thickness, is 3/8" just too thick?

Give him a 1" wide, 8" long piece of 3/8" stock and tell him to carry it around for a few days... let him know his knife will weigh roughly the same amount. Within an hour he will see how impractical his idea is.

blade thickness, is 3/8" just too thick?

3/8" thick is appropriate... for a kukri or big seax. It would be totally unnecessary in any blade less than 10" long, IMO. To get a good cutting geometry you would need the blade to be very wide, 1 3/4" or wider. To me it just doesn't make sense if the blade is only 5" long.

    What size holes?

If you can't find the number drill bits locally, most knife supply places have them.
