Finally got mine finished up. This is pretty much my first hidden tang and attempt at a hamon. The steel is 1095, the guard is G10 and the handle is Stabilized black mesquite. OAL is 9" with a 4" cutting edge.

It comes from the adds that come up on posts. It's just like any other add but a video comes on like I clicked on the add. None of the other adds do this. It's on my iphone if that matters

A Disneyland pop up interrupts my forum viewing every time I click on a new page. Is there any way of getting rid of it?

Awesome trick Darren. I can't use that on this one but I would not have thought of that. Does anyone have any thoughts on guard material. I wanted to try carbon fiber but have never seen it used. I figure it's along the lines of a G10 guard but this is new territory for me

The plan is a CF gaurd and black Mesquite handle but I fitted the guard pre HT and after cleaning up the ricasso post HT the guard doesn't fit snug so I have to come up with another one.

Thank you for having a look at my drawing. I went ahead and cut it out and filed the shoulders but I didn't like how the spine looked so I stopped there. I will use your advise with my next tang and pin lay out, it is greatly appreciated.

I was trying out a new kind of belt while tapering a tang and it exploded so after shaking off the rather traumatic experience I threw on another belt and that one popped too. I was shocked, pissed and bloody. The second belt ground off the bandages I just put on my arm from the first belt...
