    Knifemakers Law..............

I'm still looking for a spring that shot out of a customer's Glock 5 years ago! Had to order a new one. I feel your pain.

Epoxying question for you "seasoned" pros.

Thanks to both of you. I know there was plenty of "tooth" in mating surfaces and I cleaned all surfaces with Denatured Alcohol, so no body oils. Surfaces mated well enough I probably should have used spring clamps instead of C-clamps. I suspect the culprit is the combination of heat and the...

Epoxying question for you "seasoned" pros.

I'm in the process of making a carving knife for myself right now. Decided to put the extra time into it to make it uniquely mine. This is the first stacking of materials I've done on a knife handle. So I'm stacking, front to back, Gabon Ebony, .040" brass, .040" red fiber, 1/4" Walrus Ivory...

    Yup, another Maker's Mark question.

Here's a better one, I think. Just don't know how to make the stroke of the oval wider! Any thoughts or comments from anyone on the forum? I'm thinking the oval needs to be about 3/16" tall.

    Yup, another Maker's Mark question.

Sorry, I see it now. Oh well, I'm pretty thick skulled. Here's another idea: To answer your question, I have no idea where I'll get my stencil. My biggest problem still lies in the fact typically the largest size of my carving knife blades is going to be 1/2" x 1 1/2".................which...

    Yup, another Maker's Mark question.

Don't "hate" it................just don't understand the "football". o_O This is more like what I was thinking about......but maybe inside an elipse or diamond.

Thanks for the tip..........and the compliment.

    Yup, another Maker's Mark question.

I'm not on any social media. I don't plan on having any kind of a webpage for my knives. I probably won't make enough knives to worry about it. I know I won't be making enough full sized knives to worry about it. Just wondering where I could get the artwork done for a stencil order. The...

    Yup, another Maker's Mark question.

Thanks, Mike. The only question I had was "So any suggestions for how to get a nifty logo design to send to a stencil maker?"...

Thanks, Ed. Good advice. Sorry, Chris, I missed that.

    Yup, another Maker's Mark question.

Thanks, Chris. As I mentioned in my first post, I've already got the variable power supply...............all I need is the stencils. But I need a logo first.

    Yup, another Maker's Mark question.

Thanks, Ed. I'd read what you wrote a little while back in my search for answers. All good information, for sure. But......................................... In the first place, I am making my blades in the stock removal method. In the second place, they are not much larger than a pen knife...

    Yup, another Maker's Mark question.

Nope, not Maker's Mark thebottled kind..........though I used to drink my and your share of it.............but I digress! ;) Right now I'm concentrating on learning how to make top quality carving knives. Not really going to make any money on them, but wouldn't mind building a reputation as a...

    Bevel Grinding Jig

Sanded the blades to 1000 grit today. Will treat them tomorrow. Made the blank for a handle today. Even though I don't make the kinds of knives you guys do, I'll post a pic when it's all finished.

    Bevel Grinding Jig

I wouldn't even approach my 1x30 with a regular sized sheath knife..................if there is such a thing as "regular sized". ;) But I'm still dreaming about full-sized knives and a 2x72 someday.

    Lets talk moisture tester

I use a pinless in my work, C Craft. It's sort of like Sonar. It sends a signal down into the wood and reads the resistance it meets..........then displays that resistance on the meter. If you've ever taken a body fat test, it's the same concept. The pinless is only slightly less accurat...
