hey guys 80Crv2 is not stainless steel...

Doug, right now i have about a 10* flat primary grind. I want to try to put a secondary bevel on it after heat treat. so is my pre-heat treat thickness of .030" okay? I do not want any warpage. so if i can put a concave secondary bevel on the blade what hardness should I shoot for?

I am an avid hunter as well, never had an issue with wood handles. I do prefer stabilized wood, but regular wood is fine as well.

Okay Thanks GHEzell.. just so i am clear. if I am using a modern pivot, i should have an idea of the total thickness of the knife ( blade and handle material) before I order the pivot. the pivot will have to be cut down to size.. right?
