Just finished a skinner. First time using 52100 and my first blade I have heat treated. Maple Burl scales with Micarta pins. Maroon g10 liners. Did a stone wash finish. Man had a hard time etching the blade. Is 52100 hard to etch?

I use the Personalizer Plus. I bought my stencils from I M G. I also bought the knife makers pak of Solutions. I was instructed For marking to use electrolyte 94 for carbon steel. No problems there. Was told to use electrolyte 600 for marking stainless. I cannot get a nice dark Mark with it. I...

You do have to order 5 pins. But can be 5 of any of his pins. I sent him a design we talked about it and have not heard back from him. That was three weeks ago I guess.

The antler I have done in the past I sanded to a very high grit and buffed it out. It looked fantastic. BTW it was moose antler.

So I have both of these steels bought from AKS. Interestingly both steels have the same recipe for heat treatment. For those who have done both can they be treated together? AKS recipe: Austenitize: Heat to 1,545°-1,615° and hold for 5 minutes. Quench in oil. NJSB recipe is a good bit different...
