Mike did you normalize the blade before H/T.On carbon steel blade it's always a good idea as the grinding can induce a lot of stress.Just a thought.

The work at welding heat usually will not close the fractures as the fracture has oxidized and won't weld,as for memory I'm in the camp that believes good nomalizing will eliminate any memory.Just my .02

I agree with Laurence,And Happy Birthday,also a small fit and finish thing that will help the look is take an 82* countersink and countersink the ends of the thong hole tube,will make it look flared and add to the knife.

For liner locks with a blade length of 3-1/2" or shorter I use .050 Ti, and I think you can get 3/32"1084 from Aldo.Frame screws 2-56 and handle scales 1-72.3/16" pivots from Chuck at AKS.

Man I feel your pain,I work in a 16 X 16' shop and just have goat trails in between the machines:biggrin:Some day I'm gonna move and build myself a 30X50,that should take me a week or two to fill up.

My idea was to hire 2 young nubile bikini models to fan me while I worked in the shop,could not get the idea past the supervisor:sad: So I just put in a window A/C unit.
