I have just done my first blade on a grinder, I ended up doing one side with the grinder and one side with a file. It's a taper grind but the principals are similar I'd imagine. I used a bit of both on each side, I imagine the rubbish grinder doesn't help much though

They sound similar to the crane flies you get here then, very poisonous but nothing to deliver the poison. I still kill them to feed to the spiders I catch though

Although I have eaten a lot of unusual things, mainly horse unknowingly, snake is gone of them. My mother though, having lived in Australia has eaten snake, apparently it was horrible.

Copperheads aren't quite so poisonous are they? I wouldn't like to live somewhere the snakes attack you.

How do you kill a snake? My grandfather once shot a tiger snake with a Brno model 2. I saw a two foot long adder in the woods when I was making room for some food and it was maybe a yard from my behind, I moved pretty quickly. I don't think their bites have killed anyone but I wouldn't risk it...
