Love it! How in the world do you get the subject matter raised so high from the rest of the sheath?

I always enjoy seeing your work & I really like the sheaths. The depth & subject matter of the carvings really make those sheaths pop! Could you show a wip of your sheath carving techniques?
Really like that knife. Congratulations for thinking out of the box on those pine cone scales. how big of a pine cone did it take for that size scale. I imagine there must be quite a bit of waste?
bubba-san are the lines across the body where the cuts were to be made for certain test? Can you translate any of the writing for us? I would love to know what it says.

I prefer the stag inlay that projects slightly above the body of the handle. I think it adds something to the 'grippiness' of the handle and gives it more of a 3-D effect.
