Finally finished her. My first bowie attempt. I don't know if I will make a sheath or a display case or both. She weights in at 1lb 14 oz. Blade ATS 34 RC60. 1/4" thick 10 1/2" long x 2" wide. Copper & nickel silver liner. I made the guard from a 420 layer (if I remember correctly) twist...

Solid cobalt. cost more but they're worth it. They will cut guard material like butter & give you a superior finish.

Locktite blackmax 380. I have used this stuff for years to fasten barrel bands for swivals on rifle barrels. Hasn't failed yet. This is some very tough stuff! The only downside is you better have your act together cause you don't have much working time to play around.

Great work Scalp. I really like the photo setup too. Try it again but bloody the blade & lay the scalp next to it. Watered down katsup & A piece of an old wig would make a great photo. :biggrin:
