    What is everyone working on

DAVID ---- have your wife glue the bolsters down with a propane torch & hot glue sticks onto a piece of alum. scrap plate. If this is tied down on the turn table, she should do okay.

    What is everyone working on

The reason the blade is blue is because you shoy the picture outside (blue sky reflection) --- try shooting pictures outside on overcast day.

    More bronze and less copper?

I'm just finishing engraving the thrid Sil. bronze set of bolster & spacer for Kevin Casey. The sil. bronze works much easier than the alum. bronze. The alum. B. will maintain a golden color longer than the sil B. Kevin has different patina solutions availble to him that give different colors...

RYAN, I suggest you ask your supplier about the best method. I also think Bladsmith would have some good ideas perhaps.

Lignum Vitae? Heaviest/Strongest wood I've seen

In years gone by, they used it to make main bearings in subs. You are right about the weight, it took two equal sized balsa tree to tie it to in order to float it down the river.

    New work

Personally, I would use bronze for the butt cap. It would compliment the spacers and not creat a rainbow of colors effect. JMHO

    #003 Slippie "Whew"

Better yet --- lay ivory om a piece of alum. or a piece of smooth & level hardrock maple or such wood. I have never seen anything pop a piece out when using this method for drilling Ivory --- learned this at the old Colt custom shop when I worked there. FWIW
