Flat grinders Bubble Jig and a set of forged kitchen knives to grind on.

Practice with the Bubble Jig Here are a couple of pics #1 WITHOUT the Bubble Jig up to about 400 grit (seemed like everthing I did made it worse) and #2 WITH the Bubble Jig up to 120. Still got a long way to go but having fun along the way.

San Mia Damasus Chopper/ Camp knife.. dressed in Ironwood Burl

Randy, Very nice. I showed this to my wife as a potential Christmas gift - for me of course. She went to the web site and spotted the Chef's set. I may have to arm wrestle her for it.

    newbie says hello all

How is the balance on the throwing knives. Adding scales can change it considerably but drilling the tang could help keep the difference to a minimum. Just a thought.

I'll do it. Just practicing for now, nothing much to show yet. I cut out and profiled what I hope is a good one yesterday, I'll post when I get the grind done. I've got to quit wanting to fix that one little spot. At least on my turbo speed grinder. I'm really looking forward to a...

    Forge HT'ing 1095

Ok, where to begin? Kevin, I've got plenty of quenchant so I'll fill up the roasting pan, and agitate back & forth or up & down but not side to side. I got all geeked up after a workshop & wanted to get started so I ordered in the steel we used, and since my wife wasn't comfortable with me...

    Forge HT'ing 1095

Is there a post using pictures and hopefully small words to describe a reliable procedure for heat treating 1095 using a forge, McMaster-Carr 11 sec, and my wife's old toaster oven. I am finding great information here on the forum but haven't had it all sink in yet. I think I let my...
