    I may be a wierdo.

I have a Case stockman for daily carry and use a fixed blade I made when I hunt. My hunting knife would never get sold to a customer. The fit and finish are just not good enough but it has worked fine for me and I have never had the urge to make myself a really nice knife. I like knives well...

    Twins

I finished a couple knives that will be given as gifts to a customers sons. They are alike in profile but I used different file work and handle material on each of the blades.

    New grinder

I was kinda single minded when I was making the grinder and never stopped to take pics. The grinder was based off of some plan I found when surfing around the internet. The plans for the KMG clone gave me some good ideas but I didn't follow the plans. I just kinda winged it.

    New grinder

I've used the grinder a little bit and it's light years ahead of the 2x42 Craftsman I was using. The biggest difference is the belts I'm able to get for this grinder compared to the belts I had to settle for with the Craftsman. The longer, adjustable tension arm seemed like a good idea...

    made this for a friend

Is it odd looking? Yes. The more I look at it, the more I think it would be very handy and that would make me forget about the proportions. I could see myself gutting a deer with it.

I feel your pain. I have been there.

    3 knife set

I really like that set. I would carry it in my pack, seems a little wide for belt carry. This gives me some ideas.

    KMG and stand rebuild

I tend to over engineer things myself so I love to see someone build a stand for a 75 pound grinder that you could park a truck on. Great job!

    Buckeye burl

Thanks Mike. I'll try to make one kinda like it. I like longer handles also.

    Buckeye burl

Thanks Mike. The knife in your avatar will be my next project. I like your style of knife. What is the OAL length of that one?

    Buckeye burl

Thanks for all the possitive feedback. I sharpen knives on stones and this one reminded me why I usually make smaller knives. There is a bunch of edge to get sharp on this one, it took awhile. I usually don't tool sheaths but I'm beginning to like the tooling part of sheath making so I will...

    Buckeye burl

Thanks for the kind words. It's fun to try new handle materials. There were no surprises with the buckeye but I can now add that to my short list of handle materials I have used.

    Buckeye burl

I wanted to try some buckeye burl on a knife. The last time I was at the SDS knifeworks shop, Shawn gave me some to try out. The knife is larger than I usually make. It's 10 1/2" OAL, 7/32" O1. Big thanks to Shawn at SDS.

    New grinder

I looked at a lot of the grinders posted on the web and I liked the long arm with extention spring idea.

    New grinder

I worked on the grinder for 12 hours today. It is roughed out and I was able to assemble it and put some power to it. I expected that I would need to tune this or that, make some change here or there, or tweak any mumber of things when I put a belt on it and let the motor spin it. Nope, it ran...

    New grinder

Here's a pic of my new grinder. Some assembly required. The plan is to turn this bar stock and wheels in a KMG style grinder. Wish me luck. __________________ Squawsach

    Black rifle picture thread

Here's a pic of my only black rifle after a pig hunt. I never thought that I would like the ar15 platform for a hunting gun but after building one, I love it. The .223 is a little light for hogs but it does the trick if you hit them right. My next AR build will be something that shoots a...
