    grinder motor question

hi guys, its been quite a week. i've been running a KMG grinder for the past 3 years or so and liking it very much. for a few different reasons, bench space being a big one, i've decided to convert it into a direct drive machine. conceptually its not that complicated, but i have fit a few...

    Thoughts on using jigs

i have tried using jigs with frustrating results... i find that scribing lines and using a work rest has been the most successful way to get a predictable (within a range!) result. i don't consider myself a particularly strong grinder, so take this all with a grain of salt. this is coming from a...

    Parks 50# quench

that's weird, i have purchased parks from maxim fairly recently, and i recommended someone a friend to them just back in march and he had no problem buying 5 gallons. i'm confused by your experience. if it helps, i spoke to "carla" at 817 293 4645. she was very helpful and our conversation led...

hi folks, i'm in need of some guidance. i'm looking to get set up for sandblasting at home. i've been doing it at work during lunch hour, etc... but i'm getting tired of not being able to do it myself. SO i'm looking for some advice. i don't know how many of you use sandblasting in your shop...

Forge vent inside? Any running in enclosed space? CO levels?

i'd love to hear some knowledgable input on this as well. i hope to be embarking on a similar endeavor, but much sooner. if it helps, my space is fairly small: about 400 square feet, but with a high ceiling.

you might want to contact beaumont metal works to inquire about the KMG horizontal grinders. i recently wrote them about that same thing and they indicated that they were planning to make more in the near future.

Hello, I'm getting ready for my first show

hi guys! i had a great time at the OKCA show! i got lots of positive and some not-so-positive feedback (i am grateful for both) on my knives and table setup. i don't really have personal relationships with many people in the knife world, and it was just really inspiring to go to the show and...
