I love the top knife especially the guard. I've been wanting to make some like that but just haven't gotten around to it yet. I still don't know the best way to curl the metal forward like that or the metal to use......

Can't call myself a knifemaker or can I?

I can accept that........I'm not gonna give up what I'm doing anyway, because I can't totally claim to being a knifemaker but I remember what an art teacher told me one time in college...."its not the finished product or how much money you can make but its the doing, the process that's...

    The Neo-Tribal Metalsmith Art Movement

Hi Tim, pardon my ignorance but where did the term "Neo Tribal" originate? I can't seem to relate the term with the knifes I've seen here but that just shows how much I know.....BTW, I do like your knives!

Can't call myself a knifemaker or can I?

Thanks you guys for the "mind set" that really covers where I'm at right now.....I do have some blanks that I've ground down and almost ready to make a knife out of but it still, I feel, doesn't make me a title of KNIFE MAKER.....I always tell folks that buy my knives that I purchase the blades...

Can't call myself a knifemaker or can I?

I don't make my own blades, just don't have the time, so I feel like I shouldn't qualify myself as a knifemaker.....What I do is buy the blades and use varies materials for the handles. Mostly, I put antler handles on the blades and decorate them as much as I can. Does that make me a knife maker...

How to seal cracks in mammoth tooth ?

Good advice, I use that method with my gourd work.......I use the dust and shavings, mix it with wood glue and use it to repair or fill in areas that need it.......It sands great and you can hardly tell where it is after sanding......

    Beautiful pouches by Randy Church

You've got a great collection of beadwork and Native Americana......I've finished a few similar to those but I don't have the blades like yours. I've got a jaw bone that I want to make into a knife and it should make a fine knive. I do like your work!

My favorite Neo knife I made.......

Thanks Rhino and Kid. We also robbed the stage in Jackson Hole, Wy. each Memorial Day week-end......I got shot down in those hard streets 3 times a day for 3 days. I was one beat up outlaw coming back to Tx but I loved it.......I tried to fall away from that knife and protect it from the...

    Bone Hunter #5...

The chemical is easy to use and you can purchase it off ebay I believe. Its where I got mine the last time I bought some. If you haven't tried it, it is a solution that works and I dye all my handles with the stuff. Just be careful handling it, it will burn ya if it gets on bare skin. I flipped...
