A friend of mine gave me some Tacula wood. It was shipped here 12 years ago from central Africa. I sanded some out and it has a beautiful grain with a color ranging from a blonde to a light red. Has anybody ever worked with this stuff before?

Will the 20 Mule team Borax work as a flux for forge welding?

Does anybody know if the NC "Whisper Mama" gets hot enough to forge weld in? If not, is there some way to modify it? I want to try my hand at damascas.
