Welcome to the site. There is a lot of information available here. I am still very new and I don't post much because I am still busy learning and reading everything I can.
I am still learning about a lot of the custom makers so I will stick with a favorite from my childhood. My Uncle had a Puma White Hunter, that I fell in love with as soon as I first saw it. My Uncle has since passed and my dad has that knife now. I have tried but I can't talk him out of it...
I don't know the whole story and it is none of my business, but thank you for sharing the parts that you did. This is a cool place full of good folks.
May you and your daughter have a very merry Christmas!
I think I am going to go find my little girl and give her a big ole' hug.
Ah, nothing like caustic fumes and fire to boot. I will keep that in mind for a "maybe someday" thing.
Seriously though, thank you for sharing that. That is a good looking finish. I may give it a shot when it gets warmer out.
Man that is very nice for a first knife. I wish I had a mentor to work with. I just keep reading and going on self taught.
How did you do the "accelerated oxidation" finish?
Very interesting thread. I have made one attempt at this so far - probably about a year ago. I intend to try it again and this is just serving to push me that way.
Not to hi-jack the thread but - that rifle stock is impressive. Beautiful work. How much does that thing weigh?
Very nice, especially for a 3rd knife. Keep up the good work.
I haven't had the guts to try to sell one of mine yet (only three complete so far). I did make gifts of two of them though.
