    Shadows

Hey guys thanks for the kind words. Bruce, that refers to the fact that they have no bolsters. These are constructed with stainless washers that are counter sunk into the scales about .100 of an inch to hold the knife securely together with no chance of pulling out. Which incidentally I...

    Shadows

Here are a couple of Shadow patterns that I thought I would share. The Natural Micarta is 4" closed and the Sambar stag is smaller 3 3/8". They both are made of 154cm. Thanks for looking.

Need some help from folder makers

1/8" will work but I like my folders a bit thicker in the back. As for the manzanita it looks good, and the harder the better. "freaks of nature"...lol......that's one thing, but "Freaking Punk Rock of Nature"....that's something totally different!

Need some help from folder makers

Personally, I don't use much wood because I fear that the pins won't hold or clasp wood as well as Bone, Stag or Ivory....that just may be my own paranioia unsure I have considered trying more wood but don't really have the luxury of enough time to experiment. Most of my customers are not...

    Slipjoint

That's great Sean! I'm just offering what I have picked up along the way...I am no expert. (I am not sure I would even call myself a knife maker yet! I got a long way to go.) I thought I would address some of your statements. Take this for what it's worth. I will buff the bottom corner...

    Slipjoint

Looks good from here. The Elk is a nice touch! cool 1 I would move your first liner pin toward your bolster and your second liner pin down toward the edge of your stag. The end pin should hold your stag in place in the back, but that Elk could move a bit near the bolster and where your...

    OFFICIAL FIRST KNIFE PICTURE THREAD...

O-1 & Walnut for my Uncle in 2004 I did this back in 2004. There were some kits and handling of blanks before this, but this was my first grind, filework, heat treat, hidden tang and sheath. My uncle still uses it.....hard! Walnut burl is still one of my favorite handle matierals...2thumbs...
