Not to be harsh...I was just going for the laugh.....it works on some knives very well. ;)

1/8" will work but I like my folders a bit thicker in the back. As for the manzanita it looks good, and the harder the better. "freaks of nature"...lol......that's one thing, but "Freaking Punk Rock of Nature"....that's something totally different!

Personally, I don't use much wood because I fear that the pins won't hold or clasp wood as well as Bone, Stag or Ivory....that just may be my own paranioia unsure I have considered trying more wood but don't really have the luxury of enough time to experiment. Most of my customers are not...

O-1 & Walnut for my Uncle in 2004 I did this back in 2004. There were some kits and handling of blanks before this, but this was my first grind, filework, heat treat, hidden tang and sheath. My uncle still uses it.....hard! Walnut burl is still one of my favorite handle matierals...2thumbs...

Hi Rusty, I use Norton Blaze 60 grit then the klingspor yellow jflex 220 & 400 after that what ever 800 I can find and then hand rub. That's what works for me! Keep up the good work. I wish I had more time to work on knives. :(
