    Getting serious in 2014.

Those look great. It looks like you took your sweet time sanding those blades out! The finish on them is top notch for sure. I started making knives about the same time you did and I have to same problem you did. I usually don't start rushing until after I have determined that the knife is...

    Utility/hunter in 1095

Derek, I would love to give you some constructive criticism, but I don't see anything. If I could get a grind to look like yours, I would have to buy all new caps, none of mine would fit any more!:3: Good job.

    Just an update

Hang in there Keith. I will keep you in my prayers. What you are going through sounds like a terrible ordeal. Bill

Hey how do u flat grind a knife

You should be able to get a 2' piece of square tubing from a local metal fab or welding shop that will fit your machine. I would imagine that would be no more than 4 or 5 bucks total if they charged you for it at all. You will also need to get two bolts and two nuts if your making it to hold...

    Damasteel and black pearl

Calvin, that is a beautiful knife. The pearl is amazing. Not surprising that it didn't last long!

    Howdy from Deep South Texas

Yeah. It was a lonely feeling when I got up in the air and looked over at that empty seat beside me. The saying, "Take offs are optional, landings are mandatory" crossed my mind! I don't know how far you are from Brownsville, TX, but if you get down that way, Don Robinson is a great knife...

Large Camp Knife w/ wild buckeye burl

Your knives are amazing. I haven't seen one yet that didn't make me say WOW! I'm off to look for a tutorial on "coining". It sure makes a knife look like it is worth some serious "coin". Bill

    Howdy from Deep South Texas

Howdy. With the exception of the R/C aviation that sounds like a list of my hobbies! I gave up on my pilots license years ago, but I can say that I have flown solo one time. I plan to leave the flying to someone else from here on out! With all of the info and helpful people here, you will be...

    Howdy! Houston TX

Hi Mark and welcome to the best knife forum on the internet. You are just down the road from me. Steven makes some great looking knives, so you if you have him as a mentor you are in capable hands for sure. We should all get together sometime for a B.S. session. I will be able to hold my own...

    Environments conducive to tool design

My think tank. I try to spend as much time as I can in one from October thru December. A lot of my better ideas come to me while sitting in a tree stand. Occasionally a deer will come by and screw up my thought process though.

    Algerita hunter

That's another fantastic knife from you. That Algerita looks really good, Jason. I'm going to have to start asking around to see if I can find somebody that has some growing.

    Nessmuk with ebany

Your knives have really grown on me. I love the lines and the uniqueness. No one will ever mistake them for anyone else's work. I think that is what I like about them the most. Great stuff. Bill

    The Guppy

Yeah, I was joking with you. When I saw the pic, I thought, that thing looks more like a guppy than some guppies I have seen!

    The Guppy

I love that little jewel. As always, beautiful work on your part. Truth be known, that is all you need to clean an animal. I always get a kick out of watching a "city slicker" with a knife strapped to his leg, that would double as a knee splint, trying to clean a deer or hog! I'm curious. How...

    Hi from Northern Texas

I have been to Hereford, TX a few times. Good folks up there. I had a classmate at Texas Tech that was from there. His grandfather and another resident of Hereford were instrumental in getting pheasants established in North Texas. After going to South Dakota on a hunting trip they came home...
