The silver twill is no longer manufactured, but Masecraft still had some in stock last I checked.

I've done blind threaded holes in blades with 2-56 to attach a thumb stud and never had a problem with the thumb stud breaking off - though occasionally I've broken a tap in the blade while threading the hole. No fun!

Thanks all! Since this is a prototype (I've only done the Goblin in cord wrap until this one) I decided to give it to my son for Christmas - hence the left-handed sheath.

The stuff Josh mentioned from Sheffield looks very much like the old ivory Micarta. Unlike the old stuff, it's already "yellowed" and won't yellow more with age. I use a lot of it, because I really like the way it looks.
