Hey how do u flat grind a knife

Remember the saying "If you're not cheating, you're not trying". This applies. Don't think that a bubble jig, or any jig is "cheating". If it helps you make a better product it is worth it. A guy that forges all his own blades and sharpens them on rocks probably thinks that your fancy grinder...

few questions: Fixed blade stuff.. Canvas Micarta, Corby bolts, tubing.. help

Here's my method. I drill the holes in the knife blank just large enough for my small OD on the corby. I use the holes in my knife blank to line up where to drill my holes in the handle material. To do this I place the handle material on a piece of wood in my drill vise, then place the knife...

    Hydraulic Press Pump Question

I can't find any info on the pumps themselves to say what the db ratings are. The v10 claims it's quite, but that's a bit relative at best. I think the motor will likely be the limiting factor in volume. Do you have any more info on the motor? The chart I saw said it would likely be between 82...

    Hydraulic Press Pump Question

This may be an option, however you will have a pressure loss over a longer distance, and Hoses can be pricey. What units are you looking at specifically? I have been repairing high pressure hydraulic pumps for the past 9 months. High pressure is a little different, but not to far off.

    My Cheap Craftsman Belt Grinder

If you remove the 6" disk you have the shaft sticking out. I just chuck up the drill on the shaft and use a clamp to pull the trigger of the drill. The drill is turning the entire unit. The motor of the grinder is not on. You should probably unplug it to be safe. The drill has 2 speeds and the...

    Brandon Miller Knife Maker Extraordinaire!!!

I think it just changed how it handled. It feels different now when I put a blade against it. My grind lines are coming out all over the place. It's just different I guess. If I had started with it I doubt I would have ever known the difference. It does make the belt ride a lot smoother when...
