I recently took the plunge into making knives. I have 3 under my belt so far. I know I still have a long ways to go but I hope that I could eventually be able to call myself a knifemaker.
Knife is made of D2 steel ,heat and cryo treated to 59 rc
gaurd is made of n/s
spacers are buffalo horn and stainless with fiber paper
handle is whitetail antler
sheath is all handmade and double stitched
Thanks for the tip on the bolsters. I'll remeber that for the one im working on know and in fact i did place a small drain hole at the toe end of the sheath. These tips i got from reading ,reading and more reading before i actually started the knife.
I agree with gaurd dog. If you feel the cut then it still needs a bit more attention on the stone. Popping hairs isn't enough. You need to slice paper with very little effort if you want it really sharp.
