I dont think there is and edge that scares me more then a good strait razor. They look great.

Im pretty new to forging and can tall ya there is allot of learning that needs to be done before I go much bigger. I practiced on small blades as they are not so temperamental and you can learn the basics on them before trying to beat out a pound of steel.

I beat this out this morning and cleaned it up a bit with a file. Figured I would get opinions from the experts. Still need to shape and smooth a bit , I'm going to finish to about 400 and give it a boiled mustard finish. Raw hide and bead worked sheath. Handle will be something like deer crown...

If someone was cutting a scandi edge with a file is it OK to heat treat after the edge is near complete or do I have to try and file a hardened edge?
