Heat treating stainless steels and I have a question or two. What does foil wrap do? I've read that it keeps the oxygen out and creates a sort of mini-vacuum. And? I haven't been able to hunt down the reason that's good or necessary. What happens when you don't use it?

Relatively old thread....but: Those USPS triangle boxes come in lengths of 25" & 38". I've used them for years to send knives all over...including overseas...and never had any problems. The price is right....free....but it does limit you to having to ship via USPS Priority or Express Mail.

Yes, I talked to the supplier and it's not uncommon. It was pretty easy to bend it back straight. I just didn't know and wanted to ask before I called them.
