    Question about filework

    I suppose you increase the risk of having a blade crack during the HT process by doing filework before hand. That said, I have fileworked lots of stainless blades and so far have not had any problems (knock on wood). There are some patterns that I would not want to think about doing after HT...

    Contact Wheel

    I'm just the opposite...I hollow grind all of my blades. I guess it depends on what kind of knives you intend to make and what they will be used for. I make relatively small knives so hollow grinding works well. I have a horizontal grinder for profiling and use a platen for rough shaping...

    Very nice knife and sheath too! Looks like you did an excellent job. I'm wondering how you went about etching the perimeter of the blade after attaching and shaping out the handle and bolsters. I've struggled with this and wonder if you have any tips?

    Harden lockbar on lockback?

    I harden and temper my lockbar the same as the blade and use already tempered spring steel or titanium for the spring.
