    Had a great time over the last few days with a visitor in my shop. His name is Leon Hall and he's a very accomplished knife maker who is now retired. He was nice enough to help me with my first lockback. With his guidance I was able to avoid many mistakes and ended up with a workable knife...

    breaking the hard edges/angles off a knife

    A cratex disk in a rotary tool works well to break edges but will not give you much of a radius...it does work well in tight spaces though. Phil

    Got a cool day so broke out the salt peter and blued some steel. This was some Alabama damascus that I got awhile back...didn't have alot of nickel in it, but turned out OK. I think I'll try it again with some more interesting steel. Scales are interior mammoth ivory. Thanks for lookin! -Phil
