    hey lyman what up? Good luck finding some AAA I have looked around without much luck. I did buy some McMaster-carr Quenching oil the 11 sec. and has worked great on the 5160,1075/1085 and 52100. those are to only steels I have worked with.....steve I am guessing you were at the abs school?

    I have the coote grinder and am very happy with it. it is built very sturdy . I only flat grind so can't comment on the different height issue for hollow grind.for the money it cant be beat . All that being said I am fairly new at knife making .....steve

    I did buy the 11 sec oil from Mcmaster and have used it on several blades so far seems to work just fine. I am using 5160 I do have some 52100 and some 1084 I assume the Mcmaster oil will work for the 1084 but not sure about the 52100? thanks for all the info....steve
