    I also think, that after I mount the scales the whole knife should be left for a few days in a warm place before grinding and final finishing. (Damn, I hate to wait :mad:)

    I never glue my pins trough the guard. For example if I drill the hole with 3.2mm drill, (which my pinstock thickness is), than I drill with, 3.5 just for a 1mm from the surface.     I use 400 and 800 grid cork belts. It gives very nice, even finish. I tryed the green chrome on and it works great, but it still eats metal. I have to break the points as you say and try again. It is wonderfull that you can push a little harder on that belt, because it creates a little bit less...
