Thanks for the compliment! I make all parts seperate. There is a small step between the guard, spacer and handle so if the handle shrinks or expands a little it doesn't show right away. I can also etch the damascus whenever I want before assembly.

Back from a week in Germany. This afternoon I fitted the handle against the spacer and the holes for the pin and the lanyardtube. Roughly made the contour of the handle.

I am working on a bowie with a 31 cm long O1 blade, damascus fittings and a Desert Ironwood handle. Here are the results so far. Forged. Ground the outline and the flats Ground te false edge and shaped the ricasso. Hardened and tempered. Start finish grinding...

Most are factory made these days though most of them were made on a machine for thr last 50 years or so. There was some one near me who made them by hand but he stopped making them about 10 years ago. What is your mail adress and shoe size? I will send you a pair. Do you prefer willow or poplar...

For an upcoming trip to Sweden I have made myself something new. Damascus integral with stabilised poplar (I think) handle. 270 layers damascus made of O2 and 75ni8. Bladelength 16 cm. Total length 28,5 cm. Hope you like it!

The pin is recessed in the pommel so when the pommel is peened the pin can't go anywhere. Thanks guys!
