    Stag wins

After an impromtu pole on the various knife forums the slight edge went to the stag, so thats what ended up on the knife. This little liner lock is 7" open 4 " closed has , guess what, stag handles, Matt Walker damascus blade and bolsters, ti liners and a little jewel on the thumb stud. Please...

    Handle Material suggestions

Lets do a poll. What handle material do you think would work best with this knife? The blade is Matt Walker damascus so will end up being very dark with very clear markings. I have not decided on a bolster but will probably go with more of the Walker damascus , therefore also dark. The knife is...

    Ironwood bear dagger

This was a custom order from a gentleman who wanted a dagger to carry when he went bow hunting in case a bear attacked. The blade is 440C with a full tapered tang, the guard is also 440C and the handle is ironwood with red liners. Overall length is 12". All feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks...

    how to finish armidillo

Well, what I did was to take a piece of scrap and tr it on some white buff. That did not work since the white got caught between the scales and did not look good at all. I then tried it with the green rouge. That worked really well, buff with green then hand rub with a towel. This gets off any...

    what thickness washers for framelock/linerlock

I use the .010 bronze as well with the 1/16 detent. If the detent is to high you can tap it down a bit just don't whale it in the first time that way you can adjust the height of the detent to match your washer. Steve

    Let's talk about nickel silver..

I have used nickel silver a few times and my biggeest problem with it was how easily it scratched. It polishes well and work easily but will show every little scratch from use or just being in your pocket. For an EDC you may want to look at a harder bolster material like 416 SS. Steve

    stitching*machine advice

You could try using a drilll press. A # 45 drill bit will get you a small enouh hole to look hand stiched but big enough to use. You have to be very caeful on lining up the leather to make sure you are drilling straight down through but other wise it works well. Steve

    Norris, Eggerling and Pearl

The nail nick is actually a piece of gold wire. I drilled two holes .059 (I think thats what they were) and then inserted a .060 piece of gold wire. It took a bit of pounding but it fit real snug once it was in. Then I sanded, very carefully , off the backs until just a nubbin was sticking out...

    Norris, Eggerling and Pearl

Just finished this little folder for Atlanta. Probably ythe last one that will get done in time for shipping. The blade is Mike Norris stainless damascus, the bolsters are Mr Eggerlings stainless damascus, the liners are .040 ti and the slabs are Mother of Pearl with gold plated screws. The...

    Persian Folder

Very nice. I like the colour combination. What is Titan that you used for both the liners and the bolsters? How is the locking mechanism attached, is it titanium? Why do you have the blade tucked so far down in the handlewhen closed, I wonder if the profile would look better if the blade were a...

This will be my first trip to Blade, I have a table, and I am coming from Canada. We plan on driving from southern Ontario to Detroit and then flying to Atlanta. What is the best way of getting my knives down there? How much of the table set up do guys usually bring. And how do they get it down...

    Folder Help

Well the three P's work best. Patience, Practice and Perserverence. No easy answers to your query. It would depend on which knife from which kit supplier and even then without being able to show you it would be nearly impossible. But, if you take your time and figure out the logic of it , it...

    Gold Lip Bolster

Thought I would try something new. I used some gold lip mother of pearl for the bolster, blacklip for the handle slab and Mike Norris stainles damascus for the blade. The pins are gold and the knife is 5 1/2" long. This one will be coming to Blade. Did the experiment work? What do you think...

    Stainless Damascus Bolsters?

Thanks David I like the idea of the gold. The pins in the pink mop are 14K gold already. Do you know if Muriatic effects gold. I guess I can dip it in to see. or doming the gold pins would look good too. How do you dome your pins without messing up the etched bolsters? Thanks Steve
