Nice. I am another newbie, who has considering trying to make my own handle material. That being said I have played with epoxy more than a couple of times. I think G10 is usually fiberglass based, whereas micarta is other stuff. But I'm not 100% on that. Ideas. Maybe try a lighter weight...
