Here's a light colored burl. This comes from a basketball-size growth off an large, old Red Maple. The two pieces adjacent to the stacked birch bark on the knife, and the sheath slabs are all the same wood with only a buffed tung/carnuaba wax finish

WOW! Now, that is just over the top! You didn't show any close ups of that insane sword/scythe/cranium lopper, but it looks very well built. And, that scabbard is quite nicely done. Very unique design and well executed, great materials and it looks bomb proof. WOW, what a package. WOW!
