Thank you all very much for the compliments. Your kind words are greatly appreciated!
Curtis - I'm actually an extraordinarily accomplished photographer with skills way beyond those of most. It has taken me decades to perfect the technique of photographic camouflage. Indeed, the fact that you...
Diver - Pentacryl treatment does not produce a product like (resin) stabilized wood. This product is used to treat green wood to prevent cracking/checking when freshly cut. The irony is that once Pentacryl has been used, the wood cannot be stabilized with resin(like WSSI does).
Here's the latest:
"Caper" is how us local yocals here refer to ourselves. "Scandi".... well I'm sure you all know this one!
So..... I decided to have a go at my version of a Scandi knife with a bit of Cape Breton influence. This is my first attempt at a traditional scandi sheath with a...
I've been searching, fruitlessly, for a tutorial on how these sheaths are made. I'm particularly interested in the process of how the inside cavity for the blade is shaped.
Any thoughts, links, or such would be greatly appreciated.
Oh my!!
Oh my, oh my, oh my!!

While the bolsters wouldn't look to bad if done a bit better...
Well, if it ain't Kauri, then its gotta be 3/4 flitch sawn, kiln dried, fair trade, petrified Northeastern South Honduran Eucalyptus..........free range.
Today I set up a display of four knives on two small shelves of a locking glass case. I will be given a whole case(4-5 shelves) on Friday when I can add two or three more to the selection.
I have four more on the bench now and then I'm out of steel. So I hope I can sell one fairly soon!:o
Thank you all.
This is a wonderful opportunity for me. The gallery is, by far, the best of its kind on the island and likely the entire region. Its situated in downtown Sydney (largest city on Cape Breton) on a well traveled street lined with trendy stores, restaurants, large business and...
