    Black Epoxy?

I like using pigment for paint. I take little bottles to my losal Ace Hardware, or any place where they mix house paint. I get blue, yellow, and red, which makes it possible to make a rainbow of colors. I also get black and white, which I use by themself, or mix in with the other colors to...

    How Do You Dye Epoxy?

Go to your local hardware store and bring an empty bottle. Tell them you need a little pigment for mixing paint. One drop of pigment will do quite a bit of epoxy, and works great. Last time I used the paint pigment, I used a tooth pick and picked up the tiniest amount I could. Will be hard to...

    Steel choice

Hi all, I am about to place an order for enough steel to make a dozen or so knives in 3/32 1/8, and 5/32. All I have worked with is O-1. Would like to try something that won't rust or stain as easy as O-1. I can do my own heat treating (Have my own electric oven)or will send it off. I see...

    Mosaic pins ?

I made mine by sucking tinted epoxy into the tubes with a clear rubber hose. When I see the epoxy move into the clear hose, I stop sucking, and press the end on a little lump of clay to plug it. Just be sure your sucker is under control, I'm sure it wouldn't taste very good! By the...

Here is my second knife, Pictures are better, but still not great. Guess I need to make a light box and use a tripod! This is a takeoff from my first, except it's a drop point. Blade is 1/8 o-1 hardened to 59 and finished to 400. Has green spacers and brass and green mosaic pin and hidden...

    Question on o-1 blade

By the way! If they dont come out, can I retreat to get rid of them? I would cut temp to around 1450. I don't think I will be putting mirror finnish on to many blades. A guy at work I am making it for wants a mirror finish. Dave
