I carried the old XX knives,the older the better, I had an old Case XX Jack knife I used for almost everything. I still carry factory knives, and handmade knives.And of course my own knives and axes.I like all knives regardless. But prefer handmade. D.B

Hey, Jerry, I used some dogwood once to handle a knife,but it was a hidden tang. Nice wood and hard. Its hard to come by. The wood i had, came from a tree in town. If you can get it stabilized I think you will be better off,If not try some tru oil. You will have a nice and usefull knife...

Hey! Nope thats sulfuric acid and spray glue. Still learning the acid finishes. Is there a certain size axe you are looking for? I make them small, thats the way I like them,but understand that might not be everyone. D.B
