What do you have to do to get a licence from Spyderco to drill a hole for opening the knife? I think this is the best way for one hand opening but I don't want to have any legal trouble. Joe

Enco has pretty good prices on flat ground stock. You should be able to get Starrett for about half of what you have locally. Joe

I have been using a wool dauber to apply Fiebings on my sheaths. Works grat for black but the brown comes out too dark. What is the best way to get a lighter color? Am I getting too much saturation?

I don't know about stainless but carbon steel will get a good blue if heated to 600 degrees and quenched in oil. The better the polish the better it will turn out.

In 2008 52,025 scouts received their Eagle award. I have given knives to four scouts and have three more coming soon. I would also like to find a stamp to mark the sheath.

To get a deep blue you need to polish the mild steel, heat to 600 deg and quench in oil.
