    Heat coloring steel??

    Maybe he can try using a mapp gas torch on it, slowly heat it until color starts in, then remove the heat. The colors change fast, and if you go too far, it is ugly gray. No big deal, buff off color and start again. Dan

    I have only made a few, so i am no expert on mammoth tooth. But I have a tip or two that has helped me... I use regular vulcanized fiber liners, glued up with my standard epoxy. After flooding both sides with CA glue like Mr Niro said. Use only new sharp belts and new sharp metal cutting...

    Anybody have an answer to cleaning up etching on polished blade? Do you live with buffing the black out of the etching? Or just lightly etch black and lightly hand polish to clean it up? Thanks, Dan
