8" Bowie with Honduran Rosewood burl

Man, sometimes I really hate your work! I just about get to where I think I'm doing ok, then you put up something so divnely crafted that I don't see any real point in going on. Truly inspirational, keep it up.

    A couple of 3-v choppers

Very nice. If you eliminate the fullers, it would help with the weight and maybe you wouldn't need to go to heavier stock.

    Foam for kydex press

Carpet padding. The solid yellow kind, not the stuff made from pressed together scraps.

Texas Gov. Perry Signs Knife Rights Switchblade Ban Repeal

Has Texas repealed the ban on bowie knives yet ? That one jsut baffles me, given their history you'd think every man, woman and child in the state would be required to carry one.

Damascus fighter w/damascus guard, Ringed Gidgee handle

That one is definitely up for bowie of the year!!

    Crusader Bowie

Beautiful design and superb execution. Usually, reminding folks in that region about the crusades wouldn't necessarily help you get on their good side.

    Hard-use Drop Point in D2 and G10

Thanks guys. Larry, I glued up the block from 1/4" 2x2 G10 that I got from the Boss, but used the G-flex epoxy from Alpha which I use exclusively now. I took some scraps and literally pounded on it with a ball peen hammer trying to seperate the layers with no effect. I try to make sure the...

    eye

That is absolutely stunning!! I really like the way you brought out the wenge's natural traits. I've thought about using brass spacers with stainless before, but didn't think it would turn out well, but obviously i was wrong. Beautiful al the way around.

    Hard-use Drop Point in D2 and G10

A stout drop-point with a 5" D2 blade approx 1/4" thick, differential heat treat by Lee Oates/Bearclaw Knives, stainless guard, black and olive drab G10 for an indestructible handle, with a basic kydex sheath. The knife balances right at the black spacer. This is for a friend's son who is...

    leather/kydex hybrid

I wanted sharksin for my son's knife, but it's kind of thin, so I made a kydex sheath, then the leather one to go over it and attached very similar to yours. This guy has got it down, though. I'm not sure if he's doing this anymore. There were some you tube videos by guys who had them, and they...

    quieting kydex.

I have thought about trying a sheath of kydex on the front and a heavy (9-10oz) leather on the back. Yes the leather will hold moisture to some degree, but so will a standard leather sheath. Also check out up armored sheaths, they line theirs in leather: http://uparmored.tripod.com/id52.html

Drop Point in D2 and Cocobolo

This is a drop point knife I finished up last week for a fund raising raffle and auction. The blade is differentially heat treated D2 by Lee Oates/Bearclaw Knives. I was really surprised when I opened the package and found that he had polished up the blade and done the file work on the back of...
