I made a blade with 4140 ... it was a Harley Davison connecting rod ... Made a nice sharp servicable blade . Not sure where to source it ? I got my piece from a Harley shop . Maybe if you had 4-5 rods you could forge weld them together ????? Probably get them for free from Harley shop ...

You guys know me ! I can mirror polish any steel including the CPM s I only use japanese waterstones up to 35,000 grit . Its the constant washing the blade and and rinsing off the debris , the loaded debris on most polishing techniques is what prevents most steel from attaining that mirror...

When you fellas speak of jeweling , What exactly are we talking about , engraving , chasing , adding jewels or all of the above . I use a lot of engraving and casting of my parts . Can you bring me up to speed . Thanks bubba
