    I have one with the 8" contact wheel and used it for making my knives before building the NWGS. It does spin fast and you will need to keep the water bucket close by for dipping. Its good for hogging lots of steel, the flat disc is useful and I use the other side for buffing.

    Mike, that's where I bought mine. They might ask for ID too as I believe it can be an ingredient used for making explosives. Cheers, Garry

    I'm no expert but have you tried mixing up a solution of Condy's crystals (potassium permanganate) in water. It turns a bright purple in solution but dries to a brown color on antler. It gives it a much warmer looking finish. Garry

    Hi all, I thought I’d introduce myself. I’m from Adelaide, Australia. I started with a couple of kit blades and moved on from there. I have made a few custom knives in the last three years and hope to make a lot more. This is a great site and I enjoy being here. Garry
