Nice work on the peanut, too bad the pearl chipped. I read in the Clay/Lake/ Centofante how to build folders book that Frank Centofante never peened the center spring pin on pearl knives. He just super glued it in place. The glue and the tension from the spring would keep it from ever falling out.

Hi Stan, I don't think that you could ever shear the thumbstud off of the blade with the blade threaded. The stud and blade are both threaded and the stud gets tightened down like a bolt. I think that you might be more likely to shear off the screw head since that is the only thing holding...

Just finished this up. The blade is 3-3/8in long made of 1095 with a hamon. The bolsters are Rob Thomas raindrop pattern damascus with a hidden bolster screw for a cleaner look. The scales are red micarta and will darken with age. The backspacer is maroon micarta. Light gold anodized liners...

My William Henry knife is less than 3/8in thick, closer to 5/16.
