    Knife Makers Guild Members

Voting member here. The easiest way to get your signatures is to take your knives to a knife show like the Blade Show. I got all of my signatures the same day at the Blade Show in 2007 in June and had a table at the Guild Show in Orlando in July.

I have tried a couple of time over the last few years to somehow organize Kentucky knifemakers in some mutually beneficial manner. There has been some intrest but when it comes to finding a time and place for everyone to get together, it falls apart. I set up a website and offered free...

I prefer to shoot knives at home where I built a special light table and have three softlight strobes but this protable rig works in a pinch.

    competition knife

Looking good! The competition cutters are a great bunch of guys and gals. They have done more for our business/hobby than most people realize. We all benefit from what they have learned through the cutting competitions.

    Newbie Question???

Vegetable tanned leather should naturally be fairly stiff. You wet it and mold it to your knife and when it dries it should stiffen and hold it's shape. Are you by chance using chrome tanned leather? That is often softer and used for furniture and other applications. However, it contains...

You guys that make knives full time..What did you do in a previous profession?

My last regular job was serving about 10 years as technical operations manager for small technology company. I made pretty good money but became increasingly miserable in the job. I finally decided life was too short to spend so much of it being miserable and decided to do something I liked for...

    Dumbfounded

Since even before I started making knives some 8 years ago, I have been privileged to meet and learn from literally hundreds of knifemakers including some of the true legends of the craft. Out of all of that, I have met exactly one who acted like I was not worthy of being in his presence. On...

    Pink ivory

I like it a lot. It is very hard and polishes like glass. Although a lot of guys are not interested in carrying a pink knife.
